Madar (N'Djamena) - Chad's official dengue toll has risen to 18 deaths and 6,275 suspected cases, Public Health and Prevention Minister Abdelmadjid Abderahim Mahamat told the National Assembly on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, according to Tchadinfos.

Data compiled up to November 3 also show 353 laboratory-confirmed cases, the minister said. As of October 30, health authorities had recorded 14 deaths and 5,571 suspected cases, meaning four more deaths and 704 more suspected cases in four days.

The minister acknowledged many deaths in communities but said they could not automatically be attributed to dengue without medical confirmation.

He said the government had stepped up its response, providing 12,000 diagnostic tests, mobilising 30 response teams and offering free treatment for dengue patients.
