Service agreement and terms of use

The terms of use on this page may be updated, removed or supplemented at any time without general or individual notice to any user, whether an individual or an organisation. Users alone are responsible for keeping track of the applicable terms and conditions of use at all times.

Sources

MADAR produces original content through its specialised teams. It sometimes draws on local and international sources to rewrite information or combine it with other news available to MADAR so that the resulting coverage is comprehensive.

When publishing news or other content that uses information from third parties, MADAR clearly identifies those sources within the content.

Any content that does not cite an external source belongs entirely to MADAR. For any published content that cites external sources, MADAR holds the republication rights; otherwise, it would not have published it.

Likewise, content that does not refer to any source is a production or content created exclusively by MADAR, which owns its rights.

Reusing MADAR content

Use of any content published on MADAR — images, video, text or audio — or any other content produced by MADAR in any form is subject to a mandatory condition: the publication must include the credit “Source: MADAR” and a link to the original item. Any failure to comply with this condition invalidates the right of use.

If a representative with legal authority within MADAR’s management permits publication without crediting MADAR, that permission must be in writing, signed and stamped, bear a reference number and be accompanied by an official letter specifying the place, duration and manner of publication and the beneficiary.

Where publication is permitted, the reused material must not be altered in any way that affects MADAR’s logos or any other logos added to images, video or audio. For text, if a user chooses to adapt or rewrite it, they must then include MADAR among the sources on which the text is based.

Legal proceedings

MADAR refers its cases to the Mauritanian courts when the conditions on this page are breached. It does not grant anyone the right to bring proceedings on its behalf unless that person is officially appointed within its organisation. Grounds for proceedings include impersonating MADAR, defaming it, attempts to harm its trademark and attempts to use its logo in a way that may directly or indirectly cause material or moral harm.
