Madar (Algiers) - Algeria's USM Alger won the CAF Super Cup for the second time in their history, beating South Africa's Mamelodi Sundowns 3-1 on Sunday, 8 November 2026, at Loftus Versfeld stadium in Pretoria, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) said.

According to CAF's match report, Zakaria Draoui opened the scoring in the 4th minute from a cut-back by Ahmed Khaldi, before Iqraam Rayners equalised for Sundowns from the penalty spot in the 25th minute, awarded after a VAR review for handball in the box.

Saadi Radouani restored USM Alger's lead with a header in the 37th minute after an earlier attempt from a corner hit the crossbar, and Ahmed Khaldi added the third in the 55th minute with a curling shot into the far corner. VAR ruled out a Sundowns goal late in the match.

The start of the second half was delayed because of the weather, the same source said, adding that Sundowns had to make two forced substitutions for injuries early in the game.

The win earns USM Alger a prize of 500,000 dollars, after their first Super Cup title in 2023. The Algiers club qualified as Confederation Cup holders, having beaten Zamalek on penalties in the final. According to CAF, the Confederation Cup holder has won four of the last five Super Cup editions.

CAF had appointed a Mauritanian refereeing team led by international referee Dahane Beida to take charge of the match.
