Madar (Niamey) - Elhadji Tiani Hassane, the father of Niger's president, Gen. Abdourahamane Tiani, died on Thursday, 5 November 2026, in Niamey at the age of 110, according to an official statement carried by the Niger news agency ANP.
"The cabinet of the President of the Republic deeply regrets to announce the death of Elhadji Tiani Hassane, which occurred in Niamey on this day, 5 November 2026, at the age of 110," the statement said.
It was signed by the minister and director of the president's cabinet, ANP said.
The statement did not give the cause of death or the date and place of the funeral.
