Russia used its veto at the UN Security Council on Friday to block a US draft resolution on Western Sahara, Reuters reported.

The US draft sought to reduce the military presence of the UN mission in the territory and make Morocco's autonomy plan the sole basis for negotiations to settle the roughly five-decade-old dispute.
