Libya's National Oil Corporation (NOC) said an armed group closed a valve on the crude pipeline linking the Hamada and Tahara fields to the Zawiya refinery, in the Riyayna area, halting pumping and disrupting supply.
The corporation said the closure caused a sharp rise in operating pressure, forcing technical teams to stop pumping at 12:30 a.m. to protect the pipeline and production facilities.
The NOC warned that a continued shutdown would cost about 15,000 barrels a day of crude destined for the Zawiya refinery, and called on the relevant authorities, chiefly the Petroleum Facilities Guard, to intervene to secure the line, reopen the valve and resume pumping.
