President Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani is travelling on Friday to the Senegalese capital Dakar to attend the opening ceremony of the "Dakar 2026" Youth Olympic Games, scheduled for Saturday, October 31.
The international sporting event is expected to bring together several heads of state and government, the president and members of the International Olympic Committee, representatives of official institutions and sports and public figures.
President Ghazouani's attendance is part of Mauritania's presence at an international sporting event hosted by Senegal, which is drawing wide interest in sporting and international circles.
