The coast guard on Tuesday intercepted a boat coming from Gambia carrying 204 people on an irregular migration route, including 28 minors and 19 women.
According to the figures announced, the group includes 143 Senegalese and 48 Gambians, as well as seven Guineans and six Ivorians.
The coast guard described the operation as part of its work to monitor national waters and counter irregular migration, while following rescue procedures and taking into account the humanitarian situation of the migrants.
