The Council of Ministers held its weekly meeting on Wednesday morning at the presidential palace in Nouakchott, chaired by President Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, after last week's meeting was suspended because of his participation in the Russia-Africa summit in Moscow.
The meeting comes as preparations continue for Thursday's launch of the second phase of the emergency programme for the development of the capital.
It also comes ahead of Prime Minister Mokhtar Ould Djay's presentation of his government's record and policy orientations to the National Assembly next Saturday.
