Madar (Nouakchott) - El Insaf party president Mohamed Ould Bilal Messoud stressed the importance of the government's general policy statement, describing it as a key parliamentary milestone for debating and defending the priorities of government action, and called on the party's MPs to show discipline and unity and to ensure that all members of the parliamentary group attend and take part in the vote, so as to achieve a broad consensus.
He was speaking at a meeting held on Friday evening with the party's parliamentary group, devoted to preparing for the general policy statement that Prime Minister Mokhtar Ould Djay will deliver before the National Assembly.
During the meeting, the party president stressed the need for a positive and responsible engagement with the Prime Minister's speech and active participation in the debate on it, in support of President Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani's programme "My Ambition for the Nation" and of his vision of reform and development.
Ould Bilal also underlined the importance of coordinating with the head of the parliamentary group and following his instructions, stressing the need to align positions and strengthen cohesion among the party's MPs during this parliamentary stage.
The meeting was attended by the head of the parliamentary group, the party's vice-presidents, the secretary general and the permanent secretaries in charge of political affairs and elected officials.
