Madar (Bamako) - A convoy of 596 fuel tankers reached the truck parks of the Malian capital, Bamako, at around 7 a.m. on Saturday, 31 October 2026, after travelling overnight under the escort of the Malian Armed Forces (FAMa), Bamada.net reported, citing Mali's directorate general of trade, consumer affairs and competition (DGCC).

According to the source, 415 loaded tankers were already in the parks before the convoy arrived, bringing the number available to supply depots and filling stations to more than 1,000.

The convoy follows others in October: 643 tankers on 3 October, 957 on 10 October, 734 on 17 October and 1,107 on 26 October.

About 4,000 tankers reached Bamako in October, compared with 3,796 in September, the source said.

Customs, the DGCC and the national police took over on arrival to speed up the handling and distribution of the fuel, according to the same source.
