Madar (N'Djamena) - Fifty-one weapons of war recovered from farmer and herder communities after recent clashes were presented on Friday, 30 October 2026, in Amdjoudoul, in the Mouraye sub-prefecture of Bahr-Azoum department, Salamat province, Tchadinfos reported on Saturday.

According to the outlet, the operation is part of efforts to settle farmer-herder conflicts peacefully after the events of 18 October 2026, which led the government's general delegate to the province, Ahmat Choua Rozi, and several officials to travel to the locality, which borders Sila province, and stay for two weeks to work for the return of peace.

The collection of the weapons aims to prevent new violence, reduce the risk of escalation and consolidate peaceful coexistence between communities.

Authorities intend to end a situation that "year after year, bereaves many families", relying in particular on awareness campaigns about respecting each side's rights, more peace messages and other prevention measures. The types of weapons recovered were not specified.
