Madar (N'Djamena) - Chad's foreign minister Ahmed Kogri and his Nigerien counterpart Bakary Yaou Sangare met on the sidelines of the third Russia-Africa summit in Moscow to discuss bilateral relations and prospects for easing tensions between N'Djamena and Niamey, Alwihda Info reported on Saturday, October 31, 2026.

According to the same source, the two ministers reaffirmed their determination to put restraint and the higher interest of their peoples first, noting that each state's stability contributes to the balance of the whole region.

The meeting comes days after Niger accused Chad of a drone strike near Agadez and took the matter to the United Nations, accusations that N'Djamena rejected while demanding evidence and an international inquiry.
