Madar (N'Djamena) - Chad on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, rejected Niger's accusations holding it responsible for a drone strike that killed two civilians on October 24 in the Emi Lulu area of the Agadez region, denying any involvement, the Sahelien news site reported.

N'Djamena called on the Nigerien authorities to make public the evidence they say they hold and said it favours an independent international inquiry.

Niamey had said the strike was launched from Chadian territory with French support, summoned Chad's ambassador and referred the matter to the UN Security Council and the African Union Peace and Security Council, without presenting technical evidence in its statement. Neither side's account could be independently verified.
