Madar (Ouagadougou) - Burkina Faso's Minister of Family and Solidarity, Lt-Col. Passowendé Pélagie Kabré/Kaboré, met people and households who have returned to the commune of Djibasso, in Koosin province, on Thursday, 29 October 2026, and handed them food and equipment to support their recovery, leFaso.net reported on Friday, 30 October, citing the ministry.

She led a government mission that included the governors of the Bankui and Sourou regions and the high commissioner of Koosin province. The ministry did not say how much aid was delivered or how many households benefited.

During the visit she went to the local women's centre and met associations and cooperatives that produce and process farm products. Praising the "resilience" and solidarity of residents, she urged them to focus on work, local processing and consuming local produce.

The minister also called on customary and religious leaders to promote messages of peace and unity, and paid tribute to the defence and security forces and the Volunteers for the Defence of the Homeland for helping to secure and retake national territory, according to the same source.
