A pasture fire that broke out west of R'Kiz department in Trarza region has destroyed about 254 hectares of grazing cover, according to satellite images that revealed the extent of the damage caused by the flames.
Footage circulating from the area shows the fire spreading widely through dry grass, with thick clouds of smoke rising, as local residents tried to contain the flames and limit their spread with limited means.
Such fires are likely to affect pastures in the region.
