The "Mauritania Forward" party has called for a 30-month transition period including a restructuring of institutions and legislative and municipal elections in the first months of 2027.
The initiative, addressed to President Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, includes forming a government of technocrats, reviewing the electoral system, constitutional and judicial reforms, and economic and social measures.
The party also invited political, trade union and civil society forces to join the initiative and help shape its proposals.
