At the Baie du Repos port, she was briefed on the ongoing modernisation project and on the rehabilitation of the old market, now in its final stages, while the digitisation of data on active vessels continues after more than 8,000 were counted.
The minister began her day at the marine life museum of the Mauritanian Institute for Oceanographic and Fisheries Research and its laboratories, where she was briefed on the state of fish stocks and exploitation levels, before visiting the supply department of the Mauritanian fish marketing company.
On the first day she visited sanitary inspection labs and the commercial quay works at the Autonomous Port of Nouadhibou.
