Madar (Nouakchott) - Minister Delegate for Decentralisation and Local Development Yacoub Ould Salem Vall has discussed with representatives of the associations of regions and mayors how to roll out a national campaign to improve city cleanliness and keep it sustainable.
According to an Interior Ministry statement, the meeting focused on drawing up an action plan suited to the specific features and needs of municipalities, setting out the necessary resources, implementation arrangements and coordination among the bodies involved.
Participants stressed the need to involve citizens, civil society and the private sector, and to put in place monitoring, evaluation and clear division of responsibilities so that cleaning efforts and the upkeep of public spaces continue over time.
