The organisers of the Ardine music festival have decided to honour the memory of Mauritanian art icon, the late Dimi Mint Abba, by dedicating the festival's tenth edition, scheduled for March 2027, to celebrating her artistic legacy and musical career.
Preparations for the edition, to be held at the Olympic complex, include a major art exhibition presenting aspects of the late singer's experience and her contributions to Mauritanian music, as well as special segments and activities whose full details have not yet been disclosed.
The organisers also plan to present testimonies from figures who were contemporaries of Dimi Mint Abba and knew her closely, and to publish introductory material highlighting the edition's programme and key moments, as the festival seeks to make it an occasion to celebrate the memory of one of the most prominent symbols of local art.
