Madar (Nouakchott) - The Centre party for action and progress (Al-Masar) said it was surprised by the way the majority parties' coordination chose its representatives on the national dialogue supervision committee, saying the decision was taken without consulting it on the mechanism even though it had taken part in the discussions, according to a statement reported on Thursday, October 22, 2026, by the Sahara Medias agency.

In a letter to the majority coordination, the party voiced reservations about "the unilateral methodology and the criteria adopted in choosing the representatives", calling for them to be reconsidered to ensure more inclusive and fair representation.

The party said the names were adopted and formally sent to the dialogue coordinator without the issue being addressed, and called for clear, participatory decision-making within the coordination of majority and supporting parties.

The majority had picked eight figures, mostly party leaders, to represent it on the committee, drawing objections within its ranks, while the Front for Citizenship and Justice froze its ties with the coordination after its request for a committee seat was ignored, according to Sahara Medias.
