Madar (Algiers) - Exports by Algerian Qatari Steel (AQS), located in the Bellara industrial zone in the municipality of El Milia (Jijel province), reached 545,000 tonnes of steel products since the start of 2026, according to a statement published by the company on Sunday, 8 November 2026, and carried by the APS news agency.

The statement said the exports, recorded between the start of the year and November, were worth more than $274 million, a figure it said reflected "the continuous development" of the company's production and export capacity and the growing presence of its products on international markets.

Since the start of this week, AQS has exported 99,470 tonnes of various steel products worth a total of more than $39 million to Saudi Arabia and Lithuania, the same source added.

According to the statement, the results confirm the company's position as one of the main players in Algeria's steel sector and its role in developing national industrial resources and capacity, diversifying the economy and boosting non-hydrocarbon exports, adding that the company is committed to further developing its exports and opening up to new international markets.
