Madar (Dakar) - Senegalese Prime Minister Ahmadou Al-Amine Lo visited the operations coordination centre of the national security coordination committee for the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games at around 12:50 on Sunday, 1 November 2026, Seneweb reported.

He was received by the head of the centre, gendarmerie Colonel Davy Mané, and his deputies, Colonel Tafsir Ndiaye and principal police commissioner Balla Fall, and was briefed on the security architecture, a joint set-up that brings together the police, the gendarmerie, the national fire brigade and the armed forces, according to the outlet.

After the briefing, the prime minister expressed his full satisfaction with the robustness of the plan. He stressed the importance of knowledge management and asked that the whole operational set-up be carefully documented, archived and passed on to future generations.

He urged the defence and security forces to stay the course, step up their efforts and keep the current coordination staff in place permanently so they can deal with any eventuality and any kind of threat. "The nation is already grateful to you," he told them.

The prime minister then continued his tour at the main operations centre of the Games organising committee, police commissioner Mamadou Diouf, head of the national police's communication and public relations division, told Seneweb.

Dakar 2026, the first Olympic event held in Africa, runs until 13 November in Dakar, Diamniadio and Saly.
