Cheikh Niang and Libya's Taher Salam Al-Baour discussed reopening Senegal's embassy in Libya and economic cooperation, according to the Senegalese foreign ministry.
The talks took place in Tripoli on Saturday, 10 October. Consular matters and Senegalese residents in Libya were also discussed.
The meeting accompanied African Union C10 talks on Security Council reform. The committee promotes a common African position, adopted in 2005, seeking two permanent seats with veto rights and five non-permanent seats in total for the continent.
