Senegal’s poultry industry association, IPAS, wants industrial permits reviewed. At a 10 October press conference in Thiès, general secretary Mamadou Bâ cited a proposed one-million-hen egg farm and warned of job risks, APS reported.
In a report published on 19 May 2026, the agency had documented high input costs and sales difficulties faced by poultry producers in Thiès.
