Senegal and Nokia signed an agreement to strengthen cooperation on digital transformation, covering the development and resilience of telecommunications networks, cybersecurity, digital government services, innovation and skills development.
Senegal's Ministry of Communications and Digital Affairs said the agreement, signed on Wednesday, 30 September, provided for stronger network resilience, improved digital public services, and support for innovation and skills development. The two sides will identify priority projects and implementation arrangements later through separate agreements.
The partnership forms part of Senegal's 2025-2029 digital strategy, which focuses on developing digital infrastructure and strengthening digital sovereignty. It also aims to support the transfer of expertise, develop skills and create local added value.
