Dozens of people took part in a march in the Senegalese capital, Dakar, organised by the 30 Days for a Fair Price collective to protest rising living costs and declining household purchasing power.
The march began in the Castors neighbourhood. Participants carried placards calling for lower prices, while some held empty pots, dishes and frying pans to symbolise the difficulties families face in meeting their daily needs.
Their demands also included lower rents and reduced prepaid electricity prices.
