Mali's armed forces general staff said it carried out air strikes on Tuesday and Wednesday against positions and gatherings of gunmen around Koro, Sandare and Sofara, as part of a military operation named "Dougoukoloko".
According to a military statement, the strikes hit facilities housing armed elements, vehicles and fuel depots, as well as a group taking cover in vegetation, destroying equipment and setting a motorcycle on fire during one of the operations.
The military authorities said surveillance and reconnaissance would continue to assess the results of the strikes and track armed movements, stressing that security operations would go on across the country.
