Madar (International) - Yemeni government forces said on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, that they had pushed further into the al-Dahida mountain range in eastern al-Jawf province, a day after claiming control of the heights in their offensive against the Houthis, Al Jazeera English reported.

In a statement, the armed forces said troops backed by fighter jets and drones had stormed Houthi fortifications and barracks and seized weapons and military equipment, while air and drone strikes targeted Houthi gatherings and depots at several sites, claiming the group had suffered heavy losses. The reported gains are part of Operation Dawn of Yemen, now in its second month, after government forces announced the recapture of several strategic overlooks east of al-Hazm, the provincial capital.

Rashad al-Alimi, head of the Presidential Leadership Council, said the operation would continue until state institutions and the internationally recognised government's authority had been restored over the whole country.

In the south, a Houthi ballistic missile struck a gathering of recruits at a training camp in northern al-Dhalea province, killing eight people and wounding more than 15, a military source told Al Jazeera. No official toll has been released, and some Yemeni media reported higher figures. Government forces said they had carried out air strikes in western Taiz and recaptured positions in al-Maqatira district in northern Lahij, on a defensive line linking Taiz with Aden.

Houthi-affiliated media reported four air strikes on a Central Security Forces camp in the city of al-Bayda and a strike on a health centre in al-Silw district in Taiz, accusing Saudi Arabia of killing civilians. Interior Minister Ibrahim Ali Haidan said on Tuesday that 21 foreign experts, 14 from Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and seven from Lebanon's Hezbollah, were directing Houthi operations, an accusation Hezbollah rejected as "baseless".

In Saudi Arabia, civil defence authorities twice activated early-warning sirens in the southern Najran region on Wednesday morning, after a similar alert overnight in the Riyadh region. The Saudi-led coalition said on Tuesday it had intercepted and destroyed a drone in the Mecca region; Houthi military spokesman Yahya Saree denied launching any attack on Saudi territory.
