Madar (Tunis) - Tunisia's Ministry of Religious Affairs has set the cost of the pilgrimage to Mecca for the 1448 AH (2027) season at 21,330 Tunisian dinars, up 400 dinars from last season's 20,930 dinars, Tunisian news site Webdo reported on Monday, November 2, 2026.
According to the same source, the amount covers accommodation, services and the air ticket.
Tunisia's quota for 2027 is 9,982 pilgrims, plus 1,000 people handled from abroad, according to figures given in September by the ministry's director of Hajj and Umrah organisation, Bochra Sebai. She said at the time that about 20,000 candidates had received text messages, around half of them on a waiting list that can replace withdrawals or candidates who do not meet health requirements.
Candidates who receive a text message confirming their place on the final list must pay the full amount at the nearest post office and collect a receipt and an e-Dinar Smart prepaid card. They must then go to the one-stop desk in their governorate with their passport and proof that their biometric data was registered through the Visa Bio app.
Under the updated calendar, the first Tunisian flight to the holy sites will leave on April 26, 2027. Awareness and preparation sessions for pilgrims will be held in two periods: from December 1, 2026, to February 5, 2027, and from March 15 to April 18, 2027.
