Madar (Rabat) - Morocco's House of Representatives on Thursday evening, October 22, 2026, approved the government programme presented by head of government-designate Fatima Ezzahra El Mansouri by 204 votes to 127 out of 331 MPs voting, the Hespress website reported, completing the new government's investiture under Article 88 of the Constitution.
The vote followed a tense session marked by heated exchanges between the majority and the opposition, with accusations traded over the programme's direction and public policy priorities, as well as score-settling over cases involving parties formerly in power.
Responding to MPs, El Mansouri criticised what she called the "victimisation discourse" of the Justice and Development Party (PJD), while the Alliance of the Left announced it would vote against, according to the same site.
El Mansouri presented the 2026-2031 government programme to parliament on Monday, pledging average growth of 5% a year.
