Madar (Rabat) - Moroccan government spokesperson Samir Belfkih said on Sunday, October 18, 2026, that the request to relieve the minister delegate for vocational training, Madiha Khayr, followed a joint political and institutional assessment by the majority parties after "personal medical and judicial information" about the minister circulated publicly, according to Hespress.
In a statement, the spokesperson said the decision was based on "a shared assessment among the parties forming the parliamentary majority" and reflected the government's responsibility to ensure the conditions for completing its constitutional formation and winning parliament's confidence.
The spokesperson did not address the substance or authenticity of the circulating documents, the outlet said. Neither the dismissed minister nor her Istiqlal party has commented.
King Mohammed VI had approved Head of Government Fatima Ezzahra El Mansouri's request to relieve Khayr, according to a Royal Cabinet statement citing Article 47 of the Constitution, just two days after she joined the new government.
The majority parties, including Istiqlal, reaffirmed their commitment to the new government, according to Hespress.
