The Mauritanian Electricity Company (Somelec) has announced temporary power cuts in several Nouakchott districts from Friday, October 30, to Sunday, November 1, 2026, as part of a routine network maintenance programme.
The company said the cuts will take place between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. and will not exceed four hours in each area.
According to the published programme, the work will cover Tevragh Zeina, Ksar, feeder lines in Dar Naim and the Carrefour area.
The work is part of technical operations to maintain distribution equipment at Nouakchott's central power station.
