Madar (Dakar) - At least six people were killed on the spot on Friday evening, October 23, 2026, in a head-on collision between a truck and a public transport minibus at the entrance to Ndande, about 13 kilometres from Kebemer in Senegal's northern Louga region, the Senegalese Press Agency (APS) reported.

Witnesses quoted by the agency said the crash happened around 9 p.m. as the truck was overtaking another vehicle. Firefighters struggled to free bodies trapped inside the minibus, and the injured were taken to the Kebemer health centre.

The Senegalese news website Senego reported on Saturday, October 24, that the toll had risen to eight dead after two injured people died in health facilities, out of 14 victims in total, as authorities worked to establish the cause of the crash.
