Madar (Dakar) - Senegal's Ministry of Energy and Petroleum said supplies of petrol and diesel to filling stations in the capital Dakar would return to normal from Saturday, October 24, 2026, after disruptions at some stations, according to a ministry statement carried by state broadcaster RTS.
The ministry said queues seen at some stations in the capital on Friday were caused by a three-day general strike by fuel transporters that disrupted deliveries to sales points. "The difficulty concerns the movement of products, not their availability in depots," it said, adding that depots hold stocks of both fuels.
The strike ended on Friday and the affected stations will be resupplied in the coming hours, the ministry said, urging consumers to avoid precautionary buying that could add to the pressure.
