Madar (Bamako) - A new convoy of 734 fuel tanker trucks arrived in Bamako at around 6 a.m. on Saturday, October 17, 2026, escorted by the Malian Armed Forces (FAMa), according to Mali's Directorate General of Trade, Consumption and Competition (DGCC).
The DGCC said it was the third major fuel delivery to reach the capital since the start of the month, following convoys on October 3 and 10, and that the regions were also being supplied in parallel.
The successive arrivals are replenishing depot and filling-station stocks "daily and at a sustained pace," the directorate said, crediting "a collective effort" that relies on the army securing the roads and on technical and strategic services working "day and night" to receive and distribute the products.
As part of consumer protection, the DGCC reminded the public that any malfunction observed at a filling station can be reported free of charge on its toll-free numbers 36 088 and 36 099, Bamada.net and Malijet reported.
Madar reported on October 4 and 11 the arrival of two earlier fuel convoys in Bamako under army protection. Landlocked Mali relies on road transport for its fuel imports, and fuel convoys were targeted by armed attacks in the south of the country in October 2025.
