Fatima Ezzahra El Mansouri is continuing consultations to form Morocco’s government, while the Popular Movement has yet to decide whether to join, its secretary-general Mohammed Ouzzine said.

Ouzzine told Hespress on 11 October that the party was awaiting a clear offer and that there had been no new contact since his last meeting with El Mansouri.

On 3 October, the Authenticity and Modernity Party’s council authorised El Mansouri to continue negotiations. The National Rally of Independents expressed readiness to participate, while Istiqlal’s council approved participation and authorised talks, according to Hespress.

King Mohammed VI appointed El Mansouri, coordinator of the Authenticity and Modernity Party’s collective leadership, head of government on 29 September. He tasked her with forming the new cabinet under Article 47 of the Constitution.
