Tahadi says the next government must demonstrate a will to change

The Renewal of the Democratic Movement party, known as Tahadi, said the forthcoming cabinet should demonstrate a will to change and set out its future direction, putting the national interest above narrow considerations following the government's resignation.

The party called for the investigation into fires at power stations to be completed, for anyone whose involvement was established by the evidence to be referred to the courts, and for officials to be held accountable without selective treatment or exceptions. It said the authorities bore political responsibility for ensuring that the case was not shelved or the accountability process obstructed.

In a statement received by Madar, the party warned that recycling officials without genuine reform and serious accountability would reproduce the same shortcomings, entrench impunity and deepen the crisis of confidence in state institutions. It argued that credible change should be measured by competence, integrity and accountability for those in positions of responsibility, rather than by changes of personnel alone.
