A Mauritanian team placed first in Africa and fifth worldwide at the 2026 global robotics challenge hosted by South Korea.
The Ministry of Youth Empowerment described the result as evidence of young Mauritanians' capacity for innovation and technology and their role in strengthening the country's presence in international scientific competitions.
The ministry added that the achievement highlighted the importance of nurturing young talent and encouraging scientific and technological initiatives.
