A sports tournament bringing together teams from villages across Agchorguitt municipality in the Brakna region has concluded after a month of competition and broad participation by local young people.
The inaugural edition involved all the municipality's villages and was supported and sponsored by former minister Dr Mohamed Yahya Ould Said. Competition was organised into three tiers: the main, middle and lower competitions.
Lemden won the main tournament after victory in the final, while El Oued El Ghareg finished runners-up. Prizes in the main competition totalled 700,000 old ouguiyas.
The tournament ended with celebrations, concluding a month of sporting competition for young people from villages across the municipality.
