Mali’s Finance Ministry announced on 9 October 2026 preparations for negotiations with the IMF on an Extended Credit Facility-supported programme. Technical exchanges are to precede the talks, following a mission that ran from 5 to 9 October.
The IMF had approved the final review of Mali’s staff-monitored programme on 18 March 2026. That programme was approved in March 2025.
