Goita inaugurates new special forces facilities

Mali's transitional president, Assimi Goita, inaugurated new facilities in Bamako on Tuesday for the headquarters of the Independent Special Forces Battalion, alongside military training and skills-development centres.

The new facilities, built on approximately 15 hectares in the Senou area, include spaces for operational coordination, training and accommodation for members of the battalion.

General Oumar Diarra, the minister delegate to the defence minister, said the facilities were intended to improve conditions for military personnel and raise the operational readiness of specialised units.
