Madar (International) - Spain's Minister of Territorial Policy and Democratic Memory, Angel Victor Torres, called for the strength of relations between Spain and Morocco to be preserved, warning that any tension amounting to a rupture between the two countries would hit border regions hardest.

Speaking to the media in Madrid, he stressed the strategic importance of bilateral ties and the need to avoid what he called the "demonisation" of Morocco or accusing it without clear evidence.

The minister said defending Spain's sovereignty was compatible with developing cooperation with Morocco and keeping it at its best level, especially on shared border management and migration issues, which directly affect both countries and the border regions.
