Madar (Nouakchott) - Mauritania's national meteorological office forecast in a bulletin issued on Monday, October 19, 2026, light to moderate rain over large parts of the country in the coming days, along with a marked rise in temperatures that could reach 43C in some areas, Sahara Medias reported.

Skies will be cloudy with rain affecting Trarza, including Nouakchott, Inchiri, Dakhlet Nouadhibou, Adrar, Tiris Zemmour, Hodh El Gharbi, Assaba, Tagant, Brakna, Gorgol and Guidimakha, the office said.

North-easterly winds will strengthen over the two Hodh regions, Tagant and Adrar from October 22, reducing visibility because of dust in those areas.

The bulletin did not give expected rainfall amounts or exact dates.
