Madar (Nouakchott) - The mayor of Tevragh Zeina municipality, Taleb Abderrahmane El Mahjoub, has called for national and political efforts to be mobilised so that President Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani continues to lead the country, arguing that the development gains of recent years warrant continuing the current approach and consolidating them.
The call came in a statement praising the results of the Nouakchott development programme, following field visits by Prime Minister Mokhtar Ould Djay, accompanied by ministers and officials, to inspect facilities and services that have entered service and how residents are benefiting from them.
El Mahjoub said the visits showed the scale of achievements in water, health, education, roads and infrastructure, which he said have improved living conditions and widened access to basic services.
The mayor, who accompanied the government delegation at its stops in his municipality, said he sensed residents' satisfaction with what the Nouakchott development programme and President Ghazouani's "My Ambition for the Nation" programme had delivered. He urged citizens and political forces to rally behind President Ghazouani and support him in continuing to lead the country toward further major changes.
