Madar (Nouakchott) - Students demonstrated on Thursday in Arafat, Nouakchott, in protest at the university transport crisis, demanding enough transport and better travel conditions.
The protesters gathered on the road linking the Riyadh district to the Madrid bridge before police intervened to disperse them. They carried slogans calling for more buses and transport services that respect students' dignity.
The protest comes days after the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research announced new measures to organise university transport and add more buses.
