Spain's ambassador to Mauritania, Pablo Barbará Gómez, said the partnership between the two countries was developing, noting that projects run by the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation in Mauritania were worth 28 million euros in 2026.
Speaking on the occasion of Spain's National Day, Gómez said bilateral cooperation covered several sectors, including trade, investment, agriculture, health and fisheries, in line with the roadmap agreed by the two governments.
The diplomat praised Mauritania's role in supporting regional stability and combating irregular migration and human trafficking. He stressed the strength of bilateral relations, which he said were based on historical ties and shared interests.
