Mauritania's cabinet made several appointments to public institutions and government departments at its meeting on Wednesday, October 14. The changes include the Mauritanian Electricity Company, SOMELEC, and the Mauritanian Fish Marketing Company, SMCP.
Former health minister Tijani Thiam was appointed to lead SOMELEC, replacing Akhrambali. Yerba Ould El Mane was named head of SMCP, succeeding Sidi Ould Salem.
Abdi Salem Ould Cheikh Saadbouh was appointed secretary-general of the Health Ministry, replacing El Alia Yahya Menkouss. El Bekaye Ould Khou was also named chairman of the Public Transport Company's board.
