Mauritania's government approved three bills at its meeting on Wednesday concerning financing from the International Development Association totalling 69.1 million euros to support social protection, improve education and develop digital services.
The financing covers stronger social safety nets, support for the 2026-2030 priority learning plan, and the expansion of Internet infrastructure, online services and digital payments under the West Africa digital transformation project.
According to the government statement, the loans have repayment periods of 20 to 25 years, with a five-year grace period, an annual interest rate of 1.5% and a commitment charge of 0.5% on undrawn amounts.
