Madar (Nouakchott) - The Front for Citizenship and Justice (FCJ, "Jemaa") has announced it is freezing its membership of the majority parties' coalition in protest at what it called El Insaf's unilateral decision on naming the majority's representatives to the national dialogue supervision committee.
In a statement received by Madar, the Front said the appointment of eight majority representatives, including Mohamed Ould Bilal, Mohamed Yahya Ould Horma and Vala Mint Mini, was not based on consultation and consensus among the coalition's members and does not reflect the various trends and entities that make up the majority parties.
The Front said it does not consider those appointed to represent it, particularly on a committee meant to oversee a dialogue expected to address major national issues and the future of the country's democratic development.
The party called on the parties concerned and the chair of the dialogue supervision committee to take its position into account, arguing that those who obstructed the dialogue at previous stages cannot contribute to organising it and making it succeed.
